Fitted Sliding Wardrobes in Merthyr Tydfil
Made to measure in our own workshop in Pontypridd, straight down the Heads of the Valleys road, and fitted in a day.
Built for Valleys Houses
Merthyr is a straight run up the A470 from the workshop, and the houses at that end of the valley are the ones we have been building for longest. Terraces stepped into the hillside, rooms a bit narrower than you would find in the city, and ceilings that are generous for the age of the house.
The chimney breast is the thing that decides most jobs up here. One alcove is usually usable and the other is behind the door or up against a window, so the run goes on the wall it fits rather than the wall a catalogue assumes. That is the advantage of building each one to the room.
Houses on a slope bring their own problems. Floors that fall away across the room, walls that have moved with the ground over a century, and skirting that has not been level since it went on. It does not stop a fitted run going in. It just means measuring properly and scribing on the day, which is what our fitters do anyway. Then there is the newer stock out at Gurnos, Dowlais Top and the estates around Trefechan, where the rooms are square and the ceilings lower. Different job, same answer. A floor to ceiling run with mirror doors, and a small square bedroom stops feeling like one.

The workshop is on the Albion Industrial Estate in Pontypridd, about twenty five minutes down the valley from Merthyr.
Made in the same valley
Your doors are cut and built in Pontypridd, a short run down the A470. The person who measures your room works at the place they are made.
Our own fitter, not a subcontractor
Fitting day is one of our own team, not somebody handed your address that morning. If something needs adjusting we come back ourselves.
No showroom markup
Companies with retail park showrooms pass on the rent, the advertising and the commission. We make ours ourselves, which is the whole reason we start at £799.
Questions From Merthyr Customers
There is no distance charge within 75 miles of our Pontypridd factory. A small charge may apply further afield, and we will confirm that before arranging your visit.
All locations are treated equally, so there are no priority areas. The visit can take place as soon as we possibly can, at a time that works for both you and us.
Not in a house of that age. Our fitters scribe and adjust on the day so the run sits level and the doors slide properly.
Yes. A run does not have to be symmetrical. We build to the wall you have got rather than the wall the catalogue assumes.
Yes, right down the valley and up to Dowlais Top and Pontsticill. Ring us with your postcode if you are unsure.
Usually more so, because there is less room to waste. A floor to ceiling run uses the height a freestanding wardrobe throws away.
No local showroom. If you would like to see the doors in person, they are on display at our workshop in Cilfynydd, at The Flooring & Bed Depot in Ebbw Vale, and at JB Carpets and Beds in Nelson.
