In a lot of bedrooms, the corner is the one bit of floor nobody uses. Two wardrobes on walls that meet cannot sit tight together, because their doors would clash, so they have to stop short of each other and the corner between them is left empty. A corner wardrobe solves that by carrying the storage round the corner in one continuous run.
How an L-shaped fitted wardrobe works
An L-shaped run follows two walls that meet. Because it is built as one piece, the corner square and all the height above it become part of the wardrobe. The doors on each wall slide across each other, so neither side needs room to swing open, and the whole run sits flat against the walls.
We measure every run to the room it is going in, so the two sides do not have to be the same length. One side can be a long run of hanging space and the other a shorter section of shelves or drawers, depending on the room and what you need to store.
Making the corner itself useful
The space right in the corner is deep and can be harder to reach, so it is worth planning what goes there. It suits long hanging for coats and dresses you do not wear every day, and seasonal clothes you only need a few times a year.
Choosing doors for a corner run
We make all our doors in our own workshop, so you can mix them in the same run. Mirror doors bounce light around the room and help a smaller bedroom feel brighter. Coloured glass doors give a clean, modern finish, and solid panel doors suit a room where you would prefer not to have a mirror facing the bed. You can use a different door on each side of the L if you like.
What a corner wardrobe costs
A corner run is priced in the same way as any other fitted wardrobe, by its size, the doors you choose and the storage inside. Our sliding wardrobes start from £799, and glass door wardrobes start from £999. Our guide to fitted wardrobe costs has more detail on what affects the price.
Rooms where a corner run works well
Corner runs suit bedrooms where the bed sits against one wall and the other two walls are free, and box rooms where every bit of wall counts. If you are not sure whether your room would suit one, we can measure up and show you a 3D design at a free home design visit, with a written price and no obligation to go ahead.
