It doubles whatever light is already in the room, and it removes the visual wall at one end, so the eye reads the space as carrying on rather than stopping. In a box room or a north-facing bedroom the difference is immediate and it is the reason people who came in wanting solid doors often leave having chosen mirror. It also takes a job off the wall. Most bedrooms have a mirror hung somewhere, usually in the one spot with decent light. A full height mirrored door does that job in the door itself, and gives you the wall back. The trade is honest enough. Mirror shows dust and fingerprints more than a painted door, so it wants a wipe over now and then. If that would irritate you, solid doors are the better answer and we would rather say so. ## Not All Mirror Is the Same Full height mirror, mirror panels set within a framed door, or tinted and smoked mirror, with a choice of frame colours to suit the room. Doors are made to your preference, so they can be made in multiple styles and combinations to suit the room. ### Mirror types Image: Full height silver mirror sliding wardrobe door panel sample (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/assets/swatch-mirror-full-2Y14I-kq.jpg) Full height mirror Image: Mirror panels set within a dark framed sliding wardrobe door sample (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/assets/swatch-mirror-panel-BujZNM5r.jpg) Mirror panels with H-Bars Image: Tinted smoked grey mirror sliding wardrobe door panel sample (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/assets/swatch-mirror-tinted-DcksbZZ3.jpg) Tinted or smoked mirror ### Frame colours Image: Black sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/88287836-a320-4fbb-ad58-20a405dfa53f/swatch-frame-black-new.png) Black Image: Light Oak sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/ac7be9bc-71e6-46eb-b2ef-fca04bbb1533/swatch-frame-light-oak.png) Light Oak Image: White sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/44d37fa9-4594-4e0c-8f0a-1e85567002d8/swatch-frame-white-new.png) White Image: Satin silver anodised aluminium sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/98cb0ada-d56b-4478-b6ea-0d34c07919cf/swatch-frame-satin-silver.png) Satin Silver Image: Stone grey sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/78cdc972-5deb-41d8-87b3-0b75abd9f2a5/swatch-frame-stone-grey-new.png) Stone Grey Image: Graphite dark grey sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/c19528df-136b-434e-ac01-6e64b3edb5c2/swatch-frame-graphite.png) Graphite Grey Image: Satin gold aluminium sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/4f87e9f6-f281-49a0-b79d-2fc06d3cd59a/swatch-frame-satin-gold-real.png) Satin Gold ## The Bit Nobody Asks About Until Afterwards Every mirror door we make is safety-backed, so if the glass is ever broken it holds together instead of coming down in pieces. It is not the sort of thing anyone thinks to ask when they are choosing a finish, and it is exactly the sort of thing that matters in a house with children in it. Ours are made to British standards. BS 6206 (Class B & C), BS EN 12600 (Class 2B2). There is no special product and no coating to look after. ### Do they show every fingerprint? They show more than a painted door, particularly at handle height. Most people find it takes less looking after than they expected, but it is worth being honest that it is more than nothing. ### Is the mirror safe if it gets broken? Yes, every mirror door we make is safety-backed so it holds together rather than shattering. ### Can I have mirror on some doors and not others? Yes, doors are made to your preference, meaning doors can be made in multiple styles and combinations. ### Will it make my room look like a gym? No. A full height mirrored run in a bedroom reads as space rather than as a mirror wall, particularly with a frame colour that picks up something already in the room. ### Does mirror cost more than solid? No, mirror doors and solid doors cost the same. ### Can mirror doors go in a room with a sloping ceiling? Yes, the run is built to the roofline the same as any other door type. ## Mirror Doors From £799 Sliding wardrobes start at £799 whichever doors you choose, mirror included. What you pay comes down to the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out. We make everything ourselves in Pontypridd, so there is nobody in the middle adding a margin. Still deciding?
