That is the point of them, and for a lot of rooms it is exactly right. Solid doors do the opposite. Matched to the wall colour, a full-height run stops reading as furniture and starts reading as part of the room. That matters more than it sounds in a bedroom. A wall of mirror is a lot to wake up to for some people, and glass makes a glossy feature of the whole wall. Solid doors give you neither. Everything is behind a plain front and the room stays calm. It is also the widest choice of the three. Colours, wood effects and finishes, so the doors can pick up the walls, the flooring, or the furniture that is already in there rather than fighting any of it. If the room is already bright and you are not relying on the doors to move light around, solid is usually the one people are happiest with a year later. ## Panel Finishes and Frame Colours Choose from five plain colours and four wood-effect finishes, then pair your panels with a frame colour to suit your room. ### Plain colours Image: White solid wardrobe panel sample on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/0c1db0dd-e37b-490a-b589-628efd4aced9/solid-sample-white.webp) White Image: Cashmere solid wardrobe panel sample on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/852b242e-a976-4c49-868f-08c0bfad0591/solid-sample-cashmere.png) Cashmere Image: Light Grey solid wardrobe panel sample on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/d48c681f-d3b4-4e80-bffe-dca0ae6c8651/solid-sample-light-grey.png) Light Grey Image: Grey solid wardrobe panel sample on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/ff2f8943-b63a-42bd-9d78-8e0b7b0734b5/solid-sample-grey.png) Grey Image: Black solid wardrobe panel sample on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/65ddf5ea-d067-455b-af84-29f71d687cd6/solid-sample-black.png) Black ### Wood-effect finishes Image: Oak wood-effect wardrobe panel sample with vertical grain on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/302e77c3-debe-44ba-b90f-6c65923cb381/solid-sample-oak.png) Oak Image: Grey Oak wood-effect wardrobe panel sample with vertical grain on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/69f6c768-80ef-4274-b714-09d7dcedeae1/solid-sample-grey-oak.webp) Grey Oak Image: Stone Grey wood-effect wardrobe panel sample with horizontal grain on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/c778cc70-5438-4890-a06d-9a72cb4ed5d8/solid-sample-stone-grey.webp) Stone Grey Image: Walnut wood-effect wardrobe panel sample with horizontal grain on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/67059bfd-b7a7-4317-b098-caec3de3eda9/solid-sample-walnut.webp) Walnut ### Frame colours Image: Black sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/88287836-a320-4fbb-ad58-20a405dfa53f/swatch-frame-black-new.png) Black Image: Light Oak sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/ac7be9bc-71e6-46eb-b2ef-fca04bbb1533/swatch-frame-light-oak.png) Light Oak Image: White sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/44d37fa9-4594-4e0c-8f0a-1e85567002d8/swatch-frame-white-new.png) White Image: Satin silver anodised aluminium sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/98cb0ada-d56b-4478-b6ea-0d34c07919cf/swatch-frame-satin-silver.png) Satin Silver Image: Stone grey sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/78cdc972-5deb-41d8-87b3-0b75abd9f2a5/swatch-frame-stone-grey-new.png) Stone Grey Image: Graphite dark grey sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/c19528df-136b-434e-ac01-6e64b3edb5c2/swatch-frame-graphite.png) Graphite Grey Image: Satin gold aluminium sliding wardrobe door frame profile sample standing on a white plinth (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/__l5e/assets-v1/4f87e9f6-f281-49a0-b79d-2fc06d3cd59a/swatch-frame-satin-gold-real.png) Satin Gold ## What Is Actually in the Door The reputation cheap fitted wardrobes earned was built on thin board that swelled the first time a radiator leaked and doors that dropped out of true within a couple of years. Our doors, however, are made from one solid board, meaning all of that is eliminated, improving the longevity infinitely. We order in solid board to our factory and cut every door in our own workshop to the correct sizes and to allow our metalwork to be fitted, nothing arrives flat-packed from overseas. Behind the doors, the interior can be fitted out with internal drawers, shelving and hanging space to suit what you own — see how we do that on our internal storage (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/wardrobes-bespoke-storage-cardiff) page. Solid doors matched to the quietest colour in the room calm the whole thing down. ### Anywhere you want the storage to vanish Matched to the wall, a full height run reads as a wall rather than as wardrobes. ## Solid Doors in Real Bedrooms Six of our favourite genuine SP projects, each with the town or village it was fitted in. There are plenty more in the wardrobe gallery (https://spmirrorwardrobes.co.uk/gallery). Yes, with our wide range of colours chances are that we'll be able to find a board that matches the colours of your room. ### Will the colour fade over time? It's highly unlikely that a board would face the heat or sunlight that would be harmful enough to make it fade. ### Do solid doors mark or chip? Due to the hard-wearing nature of the boards and the metal frame around them, it would take a vast force for any visible damage to be caused to one of our doors. ### Can I have different colours on different doors in the same run? Yes, you can choose whatever door options you would like within a run. All doors are made in-house, so you can do as you please. ### Can I have handles, or are they all recessed? The frame of the door acts as the handle, allowing for easy access to the wardrobe's interior. ### Do solid doors cost less than mirror or glass? Door types are priced differently. Sliding wardrobes start at £799, while glass wardrobes start at £999. The final price also depends on the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out. ### Can solid doors go in a room with a sloping ceiling? Yes, the run is built to the roofline the same as any other door type. ## Solid Panel Doors From £799 Sliding wardrobes start at £799 whichever doors you choose. What you pay comes down to the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out. We make everything ourselves at Pontypridd, so there is nobody in the middle adding a margin. Still deciding?
